老外的广州抗疫日记：一周检测三次核酸，希望疫情尽快过去

过去的一周左右，大家的心情就感觉像是坐过山车一样。在那么长时间没有本土病例之后，这波疫情确实影响了大家生活的方方面面。

Here in Guangzhou, the last week or so has felt almost like a roller coaster. After months and months of no COVID-19 cases, suddenly, the virus was right on our doorstep once again.

这一波疫情的本地病例确实令人担忧，但同时，我们也看到每个社区都团结起来，各方面的措施都做足做好，这也是很令人欣慰的。

Yes, the fact that local cases have been reported has been worrying, but at the same time, the way the community has come together to ensure the local outbreak remains minor has been comforting, to say the least.

在过去一周，我接受了三次核酸检测。每次我看到的，都是身边的每个人都有序地排好队，没有恐慌，检测也安排得很好，非常有序。

Over the last week, I have undergone three COVID-19 tests. Each time, everyone around me was lined up in an orderly fashion, there seemed to be no panic, and the tests were conducted in an extremely timely and orderly fashion.

尽管生活的某些方面让我想起了2020年初疫情爆发的时候，比如在小区大门口的货架上放着快递和外卖，但生活也没有受到太大的影响，至少手握绿码，去哪里也不是大问题。

Although certain aspects of life are reminiscent of early 2020, such as deliveries being placed on shelves at the front gates of communities, for most in Guangzhou, holding a green health code has meant that life has more or less continued as normal.

广州的这次小范围的疫情不容忽视，广州在10天内进行了累计1900多次例核酸检测，有一些地区还开展了两轮检测。医务人员的举动令人印象深刻，而大家的的配合也真的很棒。

This small outbreak in Guangzhou resulted in more than 19 million COVID-19 tests being carried out over ten days in Guangzhou, with some districts conducting two rounds. The speed at which medics have been mobilized has been impressive, while the willingness of the public to cooperate has also been commendable.

过去一段时间，也会常常可以看到有人不戴口罩。但随着广州本土病例的出现，大家都全部自觉地戴上口罩。

For a while, it was common to see people, here or there, not wearing masks, as no local infections had been reported for months, but as soon as the first local case in 2021 was reported in Guangzhou, I quickly saw that everyone started wearing masks again, without the need for particular mandates - it just came as second nature.
