Amidst the bustling crowd, Professor Philippe Fournier-Viger, a Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen University, strolled through the CIEP, engaging in conversations with various individuals to learn about their work. "I came to the CIEP to stay updated on the new policies introduced by different regions and local companies in Shenzhen, and to explore the services available for expatriates living here. I've noticed a plethora of services in various areas that support expatriates, especially talents, and I think this is fantastic." shared Professor Fournier-Viger with reporters, as he reflected on his experience attending the CIEP.

Like millions of young Chinese professionals who come to Shenzhen, "opportunity" is the primary reason why international talents are drawn to the city, and Shenzhen's robust talent policies serve as a key factor in attracting Professor Fournier-Viger to work here.

Professor Fournier-Viger first arrived in Shenzhen in 2015 on a working visa, and later received a National Title of Talent from the National Science Fundation. He expressed that the talent policies implemented by the Shenzhen government are comprehensive and diverse, and he has personally benefited from other talent policies, which greatly influenced his decision to work in Shenzhen. He also expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Shenzhen Talent Institute (STI).

Exquisite glassware and colorful paintings by Russian artist Alevtina Kovalenko captivated many visitors at CIEP 2023. Alevtina is not only an accomplished artist, but also a successful entrepreneur who established her own company in Shenzhen in 2019.

“深圳是一个很温暖的地方，这是一个大城市，提供了很多的机会。”阿列夫蒂娜向记者回忆到她远跨半个疆域，从北边的俄罗斯来到中国南端深圳创业的原因。“在深圳开公司效率很高，同样在深圳从商的朋友们，当时给了我许多宝贵的法律咨询，这里的营商环境非常好，我能感受到越来越多的公司有兴趣与艺术家合作。之前我还参加了宝安区美术家协会举办的两次画展，他们用这种方式帮助推广我的艺术。”阿列夫蒂娜开心地说道。

" Starting a business in Shenzhen is highly efficient, and I have received valuable legal advice. The business environment here is excellent, and I can feel that more and more companies are interested in collaborating with artists. I have also participated in two art exhibitions organized by the Bao'an District Artists Association, which has helped promote my art." Alevtina said happily.

She believes that the key factors that attracted her to start her business in Shenzhen are its openness, tolerance, and innovation. "When I am in Shenzhen, I feel like a Shenzhener!" said Meixi Liu (Priyasha Sharma), who has lived in Shenzhen for 7 years and is now a master's student at Shenzhen University, shared her feelings about the city's vitality and inclusiveness.

As an international volunteer representing the Guangdong Enterprise Service Center at CIEP 2023, Meixi Liu has attended the conference for the second time. She noticed that many international volunteers are participating in booths of international blocks at the event, which reflects Shenzhen's openness and diversity, as well as its internationalization. Shenzhen imbues people with a spirit of striving for success, which is why many international talents are willing to stay in the city and grow with its development.

“深圳以拥有20个国际化街区而闻名。”美希说道。招商街区、蛇口街区、粤海街区、河套深港科技创新合作区等国际化街区，在CIEP现场给予许多外籍人士服务。来自蛇口街区的展会负责人告诉记者，这些国际化街区正以创新理念、专业服务等举措，实现了人人参与、人人尽力、人人共享的良好社会氛围，吸引了许多外籍人才留在深圳，这亦是深圳推动国际化城市建设进程的缩影。

"Shenzhen is known for its 20 international blocks," said Meixi. International blocks such as Qianhai, Shekou, Yantian, and Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone provide services to many foreigners at the CIEP. The exhibition manager from Shekou block told the reporter that these international blocks are creating a favorable social atmosphere of participation, concerted efforts, and shared benefits through innovative concepts and professional services, which has attracted many foreign talents to stay in Shenzhen. This is also a reflection of Shenzhen's efforts to promote the internationalization of the city-building process.
