Shenzhen has retained its place among the world’s top 10 financial centers, according to the 38th Global Financial Centres Index released Thursday by British think tank Z/Yen Group and the China Development Institute. The city ranks ninth overall and appears in the global top 15 across five categories — business environment, human capital, infrastructure, financial‑sector development, and reputation. Notably, Shenzhen’s fintech ranking climbs to second globally, placing it between Hong Kong and New York.
